Kite Runner
***Who was your favorite character and why? which character did you dislike through out the story and why?***
My favorite character through out the story was Hassan becuase he was very loyal. He demonstrated what real friendship is, even though he went through alot of obstacles in his life. The character I disliked was Amir because he was a coward. For example, when he saw Hassan being rapped by three bullies he just stood back and watched. Then when he found out that Hassan was his half brother and his son was his nephew, he didn't want to go for him. Rahim Kan had to lie to him telling him to go get him from Afghanistan (know that he is an orphan) and to drop him of with a couple that wants him. Rahim Kan lied to him and I personally think that Amir is very ungratefull of what he has.
**which is your most favorite scene in the book? In the movie?**
My favorite scene in the movie is when you see Amir and Hassan flying their kites. They seem very happy and full of joy. For example, When Hassan says "For you a thousand times over". I also love the ending when Amir tell Sorabh the same thing is father had told him once.
**Which did you enjoy better the novel or the movie??**
I enjoyed better the book because it gives you more details. The movie skips alot of stuff that were mention in the book. For example, The movie doesn't mention when Amir whent to go see Hassan. That's when Amir finds out Hassan had a son. I really preffered the book than the movie.
**What is the theme of the novel? What do you think was the message the author was trying to convey by writting this book?**
Through out the novel you will find alot of themes. One of the themes in the story for example is courage. The courage Amir had to go back to Afghanistan to find his nephew Soraph. The courage he had to fight with Assef, so that he would leave Soraph free.I think the message the author was trying to send is that everyone has a point on their life were they demonstrate bravery. Were they can show a little bit of courage andstand up not only for themselves but who they love.
